The UITP MENA Congress is the largest public transport event in the region, where professionals from the MENA region and beyond have the opportunity to meet and share their experience and expertise.

The upcoming edition, the 3rd UITP MENA Congress & 1st UITP Taxi Conference, with over 80 regional and international public transport experts participating, will be held over three days and is expected to attract 600 sector delegates and over 400 organisations. The 2,000m² of exhibition will serve as a market place for the latest innovations in the public transport industry.

PTx2 strategy

In June 2009 UITP set out an ambitious aim for the sector, namely to double the market share of public transport worldwide by 2025. This ambition goes by the name of 'PTx2'. Whilst this aim is undoubtedly bold, it is not unrealistic: many cities have already taken up the challenge and are working towards this goal, in line with their specific political, geographical and historical contexts.
